What this trial studies

This is a prospective, questionnaire-based observational project enrolling women diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy up to 14 weeks' gestation. Participants complete validated instruments including the IES-R, PCL-S, and Trauma Recovery Measure during hospitalization, with clinical data abstracted from medical records. Scores will be used to estimate the prevalence and severity distribution of PTSD-related symptoms in this population. The goal is to identify how many women show symptom levels that might warrant early psychological support.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Women diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy at up to 14 weeks' gestation who are treated at the participating center and can complete self-report questionnaires are the intended participants.

Not a fit: Women with heterotopic pregnancy, pregnancies beyond 14 weeks, or those unable or unwilling to complete the questionnaires are unlikely to be eligible or to benefit from this project.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the project could help identify women at higher risk of PTSD after ectopic pregnancy so they can be offered earlier psychological support.

How similar studies have performed: Previous research on PTSD after obstetric loss and ectopic pregnancy indicates PTSD symptoms are common, but there are relatively few prospective questionnaire-based prevalence studies focused specifically on ectopic pregnancy.
