What this trial studies

This retrospective review looks at adults invited to the Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) outpatient clinic at Charité between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2025. Investigators will analyze demographic, clinical, and care-related data from medical records and clinic invitations to identify patterns linked to attendance versus non-attendance. The goal is to derive targeted measures or more focused invitations to increase participation in structured follow-up care after intensive care. Results will inform how the clinic reaches and supports patients recovering from critical illness.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults (age ≥18) who were invited for follow-up care by the PICS outpatient clinic at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, Charité, between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2025.

Not a fit: Patients who were not invited to the Charité PICS outpatient clinic or who were under 18 at the time of invitation are not included and would not directly benefit from this analysis.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the findings could improve how follow-up appointments are offered and increase attendance, leading to better identification and management of post-ICU problems.

How similar studies have performed: Some prior work shows structured ICU follow-up can help recovery, but studies specifically identifying predictors of attendance are limited.
