What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness and feasibility of an online Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) intervention specifically designed for college students suffering from insomnia. Given the high prevalence of insomnia in this demographic and the limited access to traditional treatment options, the study aims to provide a more accessible solution. Participants will be randomly assigned to either a waitlist group or the online ACT intervention, with assessments conducted at baseline, after four weeks, and one month post-treatment to evaluate outcomes. The goal is to determine if this online approach can effectively address insomnia in college students.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are college students aged 18 and older who are experiencing acute insomnia and are seeking treatment.
Not a fit: Patients with other sleep disorders or those currently receiving therapy for emotional disorders or insomnia may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could provide college students with a convenient and effective treatment option for insomnia.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using online interventions for insomnia, suggesting that this approach may be effective.
