What this trial studies

This observational study focuses on patients admitted to critical care with osteoarticular infections, particularly those involving knee and hip prostheses. It aims to describe patient profiles, care trajectories, and prognosis during their hospital stay, while also comparing outcomes among different patient groups. The study will assess independent risk factors for 2-year mortality and analyze the microbiological and resistance profiles of severe infections. Data will be collected from patient records across French public and private hospitals.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who have been admitted to intensive care with a diagnosis of osteoarticular infection.

Not a fit: Patients under legal protection, pregnant or breastfeeding, or deprived of liberty may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of osteoarticular infections and improve patient management strategies in critical care settings.

How similar studies have performed: While this study is observational and descriptive, similar studies have provided valuable insights into critical care infections, suggesting potential for meaningful findings.
