What this trial studies
This study aims to collect and store biological samples and health information to enhance understanding of the causes and treatments of blood diseases. It focuses on individuals with non-malignant hematologic disorders and their biologically related family members. By utilizing advanced genomic techniques, the study seeks to identify genetic mutations and modifiers associated with these conditions. Participants will provide blood samples and undergo thorough medical history assessments, with annual follow-ups for updates on their health and family history.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals receiving therapy for non-malignant hematologic disorders and their biologically related family members.
Not a fit: Patients without a non-malignant hematologic disorder or those not related to a proband may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this research could lead to improved understanding and treatment options for patients with blood diseases.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing genomic approaches in hematology have shown promise, indicating potential for success in this area.
