Investigating insulin resistance in non-diabetic patients with acute coronary syndrome
Effects of Insulin Resistance in Non-diabetic Acute Coronary Syndrome Patients by the Homeostasis Model Assessment Index (HOMA2-IR)
This study is testing how insulin resistance affects people without diabetes who are having a heart problem to see if it can help prevent future health issues.

What this trial studies
This study examines the effects of insulin resistance in patients experiencing acute coronary syndrome who do not have diabetes. By utilizing the homeostasis model assessment index (HOMA2-IR), the research aims to enhance understanding of insulin resistance and its long-term implications, such as the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The goal is to provide healthcare professionals with insights that could lead to more effective monitoring and treatment strategies, ultimately preventing diabetes and cardiovascular events.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 18 years old diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome who do not have diabetes.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of diabetes or those under 18 years old may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved monitoring and treatment strategies for patients at risk of diabetes and cardiovascular issues.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach may be novel, studies on insulin resistance and its implications in cardiovascular health have shown promising results.
