What this trial studies
This study aims to enhance vaccination coverage among patients waiting for kidney transplants by implementing a dedicated infectious diseases consultation. Patients on the transplant waiting list will be invited to participate and will undergo health assessments, including blood tests and imaging. Those in the intervention group will receive specialized consultations to address vaccination needs, while the control group will receive standard care. The effectiveness of this approach will be measured by evaluating immunization coverage six months after the intervention.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 who are on the waiting list for kidney transplantation at Clermont-Ferrand.
Not a fit: Patients under 18, pregnant or nursing women, and those with prior organ transplants will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly improve vaccination rates and reduce the risk of infectious diseases in kidney transplant patients.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on this specific approach, similar studies have shown that targeted interventions can improve vaccination rates in at-risk populations.
