What this trial studies
This study tests a web-based psychoeducational resource aimed at adolescents with central disorders of hypersomnolence, such as narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia. Participants, along with their families, will review the website's content and provide feedback on its usability and acceptability. The study will assess the potential impact of the resource on the social health of adolescents before and after using the website through online surveys. The goal is to equip families with knowledge and tools to enhance social relationships affected by these sleep disorders.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adolescents aged 10-17 with physician-diagnosed narcolepsy type 1, narcolepsy type 2, or idiopathic hypersomnia, along with their parents.
Not a fit: Patients without a diagnosis of narcolepsy or idiopathic hypersomnia, or those outside the specified age range, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the social health and relationships of adolescents suffering from central disorders of hypersomnolence.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on similar web-based interventions specifically for this population, the approach of using psychoeducational resources has shown promise in other health domains.
