What this trial studies
This project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a personalized mobile health application called SHIFT, designed to improve sleep quality among night shift workers. Participants will be required to download the app and adhere to specific lighting recommendations while maintaining a consistent sleep schedule of at least 7 hours after their shifts. The study focuses on individuals who experience inadequate sleep due to their work schedules and seeks to establish a foundation for equitable access to precision sleep medicine. The goal is to gather evidence that supports the implementation of this innovative approach to managing sleep disorders related to shift work.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are night shift workers who experience inadequate sleep and are willing to use the SHIFT app.
Not a fit: Patients with other independent sleep disorders or significant neurological conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance sleep quality and overall well-being for night shift workers.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on this specific approach, similar interventions using mobile health applications for sleep improvement have shown promise in other studies.
