What this trial studies
This study evaluates whether participation in a cardiac rehabilitation program can enhance the health and quality of life of patients recovering from infective endocarditis (IE). Participants will engage in physical exercise training twice a week for 12 weeks, undergo physical evaluations, and complete digital surveys regarding their health perceptions over the course of a year. Additionally, they will share their experiences through interviews before and after the rehabilitation program. The aim is to assess improvements in physical capacity, fatigue symptoms, and overall mental health.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals diagnosed with infective endocarditis who have been discharged from treatment and can participate in physical exercise.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to perform a bicycle ergometer test or engage in training will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the physical and mental well-being of patients recovering from infective endocarditis.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on cardiac rehabilitation for infective endocarditis, similar rehabilitation approaches have shown positive outcomes in other cardiac conditions.
