What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of a 12-week home exercise intervention using elastic band training for patients with colorectal cancer. The trial employs a randomized controlled design, dividing participants into an intervention group and a control group receiving conventional therapy. The primary focus is on improving fatigue, sleep quality, muscle endurance, and overall quality of life among participants. Data collection occurs during clinic visits, allowing for a thorough assessment of the intervention's impact.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 20 years old with colorectal cancer stages in situ, I, II, or III, who can communicate in Mandarin or Taiwanese.
Not a fit: Patients with acute limb inflammation, recent abdominal surgery, or significant cardiovascular issues may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance the quality of life and reduce fatigue in colorectal cancer patients.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes with exercise interventions in cancer care, suggesting potential success for this approach.
