What this trial studies

This study explores a community-based prehabilitation health coaching program designed for individuals diagnosed with lung or esophageal cancer who are scheduled for surgery. The program lasts for 8 weeks and includes personalized coaching on nutrition, smoking cessation, sleep hygiene, and movement, delivered by a Qualified Exercise Professional. Participants will have multiple assessments at baseline, pre-surgery, and post-surgery to evaluate the program's feasibility and effectiveness. The goal is to enhance patients' overall health and well-being before undergoing major surgical interventions.

Inclusion Criteria:

* Diagnosed with lung or esophageal cancer
* Scheduled to receive surgical intervention in minimum 2-weeks
* Surgeon approval
* Able to read and write in English
* \>18 years of age

Exclusion Criteria:

* Not able to provide informed consent
