What this trial studies

The study uses a Delphi survey to build expert consensus on the key components of a methodological framework for herb–drug interaction clinical practice guidelines. Semi-structured interviews with practitioners, researchers, and policymakers will explore barriers and facilitators to guideline uptake. Findings will be used to create a theory-informed dissemination plan aimed at promoting guideline use locally and internationally. The work is coordinated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and allows remote participation in multiple languages.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal participants are registered Chinese medicine practitioners, herbalists, researchers in integrated Chinese–Western medicine, physicians working in integrated settings, and healthcare administrators or policymakers involved in guideline development.

Not a fit: Patients seeking direct clinical treatment or those who do not use herbal medicines are unlikely to receive direct personal benefit from this methodological project.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this work could reduce harmful herb–drug interactions by producing clearer, evidence-based guidelines and a plan to get them used in clinical practice.

How similar studies have performed: Delphi consensus methods and theory-informed dissemination plans have successfully shaped guidelines in other clinical areas, but applying these approaches specifically to herb–drug interactions is relatively novel.
