What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the awareness, knowledge, and acceptance of oocyte cryopreservation among clinicians and young adults in Hong Kong. By utilizing a self-administered questionnaire distributed both in paper form and online, the study seeks to gather insights into the cultural stigma surrounding fertility issues. The findings will inform the development of a culturally appropriate public education program and a referral system to enhance fertility preservation services. Participants will include individuals aged 18-60 who can provide informed consent.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18-60 who are interested in or have undergone fertility preservation services.

Not a fit: Patients with significant psychiatric problems or cognitive delays who cannot provide consent will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved awareness and utilization of fertility preservation services among young adults in Hong Kong.

How similar studies have performed: While there may be limited studies specifically addressing social egg freezing in Hong Kong, similar approaches in other regions have shown success in raising awareness and improving fertility preservation services.
