Exercises for children with abnormal shoulder blade movement
Comparison of YWTL Exercises and Closed Kinetic Chain Exercises on Shoulder Pain, Disability, Upper Limb Mobility and Posture in Children With Scapular Dyskinesis.
This study is testing if special shoulder exercises can help children aged 9 to 12 with unusual shoulder blade movement feel better and improve their shoulder function.

What this trial studies
This clinical trial investigates the effectiveness of YWTL exercises and closed kinetic chain exercises in children aged 9 to 12 years who exhibit scapular dyskinesis. The study will involve two groups of participants, with a total sample size of 22, and will be conducted over a period of 10 months at Unique School Wapda Town and The Punjab School. Participants will be assessed using various tests to determine their eligibility and will engage in targeted physical exercises aimed at improving scapular mechanics and overall shoulder function.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 9 to 12 years who participate in overhead sports and demonstrate positive scapular dyskinesis tests.
Not a fit: Patients with muscular or joint deformities, scoliosis, or other significant shoulder issues may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve shoulder mechanics and reduce injury risk in young athletes.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on this specific approach, similar interventions targeting scapular mechanics have shown promise in improving shoulder function in other populations.
