What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the effects of an exercise training program on smoking students, focusing on improving respiratory function and reducing nicotine dependence. Participants will undergo initial assessments including pulmonary status, nicotine dependence levels, and physical activity levels. They will then be randomized into different exercise groups, including face-to-face and online sessions, and their progress will be monitored over an 8-week period. The study will assess changes in respiratory function and overall health outcomes through various tests conducted before and after the intervention.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are students who smoke at least one cigarette a day and have low to medium levels of physical activity.

Not a fit: Patients who have orthopedic or neurological issues that prevent them from participating in exercise may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could help smoking students improve their lung function and reduce their dependence on nicotine.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with exercise interventions for smoking cessation, indicating potential success for this approach.
