What this trial studies

This clinical trial assesses the effectiveness of various risk assessment methods, including H. pylori breath tests, questionnaires, and endoscopies, to identify individuals at high risk for gastric carcinoma. Participants aged 40 to 80 who identify as racial minorities will undergo these assessments to determine their risk levels. Those identified as high-risk may receive further evaluations, including upper endoscopies, to check for potential gastric cancer. The study aims to enhance early detection and understanding of gastric cancer risk factors in diverse populations.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 40 to 80 who identify as Asian, Hispanic, or Black American.

Not a fit: Patients who are non-Hispanic White or have a history of gastric cancer may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to earlier detection and improved outcomes for patients at high risk for stomach cancer.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using similar risk assessment approaches for early detection of gastric cancer, indicating potential for success.
