What this trial studies
The EVIDENTIA Registry is a multicenter observational study focused on assessing valvular heart disease (VHD) through advanced cardiac CT imaging. It aims to evaluate cardiac valve anatomy, function, and myocardial characteristics by analyzing CT data in patients with moderate to severe VHD. The study will compare the severity and classification of VHD, monitor changes over time using echocardiography, and explore the relationship between imaging findings and patient outcomes. This comprehensive approach seeks to enhance understanding of VHD and improve patient management.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older with at least moderate valvular heart disease who have undergone a cardiac CT scan.
Not a fit: Patients under 18 years old, those with acute valvular heart disease, infectious endocarditis, or poor quality CT images may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic accuracy and treatment strategies for patients with valvular heart disease.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using cardiac CT for evaluating heart conditions, suggesting that this approach may yield valuable insights.
