What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess dietary intake, nutrition knowledge, and body composition among Italian athletes and physically active adults. Participants will be evaluated using the MEDI-LITE questionnaire to determine adherence to the Mediterranean Diet, alongside assessments of their eating habits and nutritional knowledge. The study will involve anthropometric measurements, resting metabolic rate evaluations, and lifestyle assessments to gather comprehensive data on the participants' dietary practices. The goal is to improve clinical practices related to nutrition in sports and physical activity.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are physically active adults aged 18 to 65 who engage in regular physical activity.
Not a fit: Patients who are sedentary or have significant health issues such as diabetes or hypertension may not benefit from this study.

Inclusion Criteria: * Age: ≥ 18 years old and ≤ 65 years old * Regular physical activity (at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity; or at least 75 of vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity; or an equivalent combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity activity throughout the week) * All genders Exclusion Criteria: * Sedentary population: \< 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity or \< 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity throughout the week * Age: \< 18 years old and \> 65 years old * Presence of diseases (i.e. diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome, neurological diseases,…) and/or injuries
