What this trial studies

This study focuses on developing and implementing an intervention aimed at improving the involvement of relatives in the care of patients with acquired brain injuries or malignant brain tumors. It utilizes a dialogue tool designed for nurses to assess and address the varying needs of caregivers, thereby enhancing their support and involvement in patient care. The study recognizes the significant emotional and practical burdens faced by relatives and aims to foster better communication between healthcare professionals and families. By addressing these needs, the intervention seeks to improve the overall experience for both patients and their caregivers.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are relatives of adult patients who are hospitalized with acquired brain injuries or primary malignant brain tumors.

Not a fit: Patients who are not hospitalized or whose relatives are under 18 years of age may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance the quality of life for both patients and their relatives by providing tailored support and improving caregiver involvement.

How similar studies have performed: While the approach of enhancing caregiver involvement is recognized, this specific intervention and tool are novel and have not been previously validated in Denmark.
