What this trial studies
This study evaluates the outcomes of endoscopic gastric tubulization in adult patients with morbid obesity at the Nouvel Hôpital Civil in Strasbourg, France. The procedure utilizes a specialized endoscopic suture device to reduce stomach size without incisions, aiming to achieve weight loss and improve quality of life. Data will be collected from patients before the procedure and up to two years post-procedure to assess weight loss, quality of life, and improvement in obesity-related comorbidities. The approach is designed to be less invasive than traditional bariatric surgery, with a focus on safety and reversibility.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adult patients scheduled for endoscopic gastric tubulization at the Nouvel Hôpital Civil.
Not a fit: Patients who are not candidates for endoscopic procedures or those with contraindications to gastric tubulization may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this procedure could provide a safer, less invasive option for significant weight loss and improved quality of life for patients with morbid obesity.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with similar endoscopic approaches for weight loss, indicating potential for success in this novel application.
