What this trial studies
This study evaluates the impact of various materials, including Ora-Aid oral wound dressing, platelet-rich fibrin, and palatal stents, on the quality of life at the donor site following free gingival graft surgery. The research focuses on patients with insufficient attached gingiva, aiming to improve healing and reduce complications such as pain and delayed recovery. Participants will be monitored for postoperative outcomes to determine the effectiveness of these interventions in enhancing recovery.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are systemically healthy adults aged 18-85 with insufficient attached gingiva who are non-smokers and not on regular medication.
Not a fit: Patients with systemic diseases, those who smoke, or individuals who have previously undergone grafting in the same area may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly improve the healing process and quality of life for patients undergoing gum graft surgery.
How similar studies have performed: While similar approaches have been explored, this specific combination of materials in the context of free gingival graft surgery is relatively novel.
