What this trial studies
The Eat Right, Screen Right Extension delivers six tailored, web-based lessons that present colorectal cancer screening guidelines and personalized nutrition risk feedback (for red and processed meat, alcohol, and other factors). Participants follow a branched conversational pathway to select optional prevention topics and may access five additional in-depth modules. Outcomes are self-reported and include changes in cancer information overload, dietary intentions, and screening intentions. The program is an online extension of previously funded pilot work and is delivered through the University of Florida platform.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Adults aged 18 or older who read English and have access to a computer or mobile device are ideal candidates.
Not a fit: People already following screening and dietary guidelines, those who cannot read English, or those without internet-enabled devices are unlikely to benefit from this web-based education.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the program could improve participants' dietary choices and screening intentions, which may lower future colorectal cancer risk.
How similar studies have performed: Previous web-based educational interventions have shown modest improvements in diet and screening uptake, and this program extends promising pilot data.
