What this trial studies
This observational study aims to develop an innovative E-Detection Tool for Emerging Mental Disorders (ENTER) to improve the identification of young individuals experiencing emerging psychosis. Participants aged 12-35 will complete an online questionnaire and short exercises on digital platforms, followed by face-to-face assessments to confirm their mental state. The tool will incorporate epidemiologically-based risk and protective factors to enhance the screening process, leveraging the research team's previous expertise in the field. The goal is to facilitate early detection and intervention for those at risk of psychosis.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are young individuals aged 12-35 who have not previously experienced psychotic disorders.
Not a fit: Patients who are younger than 12 or older than 35, or those with existing psychotic disorders, will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this tool could lead to earlier identification and intervention for young people at risk of developing psychosis, potentially improving their long-term mental health outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with digital screening tools for mental health conditions, indicating potential for this novel approach.
