What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of two techniques, the Densah bur and the Magnetic mallet, for performing transcrestal sinus lifting in patients with insufficient bone height in the maxillary region. The focus is on patients seeking dental implants to replace missing posterior teeth. By comparing these two methods, the study aims to determine which approach yields better outcomes for sinus lifting procedures. The study will include patients with a specific range of residual bone height and good overall health.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients seeking dental implants for missing maxillary posterior teeth with a residual bone height of 5-7 mm.

Not a fit: Patients with uncontrolled diabetes, coagulation disorders, or chronic systemic diseases may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the success rate of dental implants in patients with limited bone height in the maxilla.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown varying success with sinus lifting techniques, but this specific comparison of Densah bur and Magnetic mallet is relatively novel.
