What this trial studies

This study is a randomized controlled trial aimed at evaluating the effects of Jacobson's progressive muscle relaxation technique combined with aerobic exercise on cardiopulmonary parameters and quality of life in individuals with stage 1 hypertension. Participants will be screened and divided into two groups: one receiving only aerobic exercise and the other receiving both aerobic exercise and the relaxation technique. Key measurements will include blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and quality of life assessments using standardized questionnaires. The outcomes will be evaluated at baseline, 2 weeks, and 4 weeks post-intervention.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-45 diagnosed with stage 1 hypertension and who can engage in mild to moderate physical activity.

Not a fit: Patients with unstable heart conditions, severe neurological or musculoskeletal issues, or those who are morbidly obese may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could improve cardiopulmonary health and quality of life for individuals with stage 1 hypertension.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with similar interventions combining relaxation techniques and exercise, indicating potential for success.
