What this trial studies
This research focuses on collecting and preserving blood and tissue samples from patients undergoing surgery for suspected solid tumors. The samples will be used to create a repository for future cancer research at Wake Forest University Comprehensive Cancer Center. The study aims to analyze changes from normal to cancerous tissue and may involve genetic analysis of the tumor samples. Information about patients' medical histories will also be collected to support ongoing research efforts.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients with clinically suspected solid tumors who are scheduled for surgical resection or biopsy.
Not a fit: Patients who do not have a suspected solid tumor or are not undergoing surgery or biopsy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance our understanding of cancer biology and improve future treatment strategies.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies involving tissue sample collection for cancer research have shown success in advancing our understanding of tumor biology and treatment options.
