What this trial studies
This study examines the effectiveness of a cardiac rehabilitation program specifically designed for stroke patients. It aims to determine if incorporating cardiac rehabilitation alongside standard care can enhance recovery of function, reduce hospital readmissions, lower the rate of recurrent strokes, and decrease mortality. Participants will be enrolled if they meet specific criteria, including being medically cleared for rehabilitation and having the ability to safely engage in the program. The study will assess outcomes related to functional recovery and overall health improvements.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who have experienced a stroke and are medically cleared for cardiac rehabilitation.
Not a fit: Patients with certain medical conditions that prevent participation in cardiac rehabilitation or those with specific types of hemorrhagic strokes may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve recovery outcomes and quality of life for stroke survivors.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with cardiac rehabilitation in stroke patients, indicating that this approach has potential for success.
