What this trial studies
This research collects and stores tumor, tissue, and blood samples from patients with pancreatic cancer to facilitate future cancer studies. The objective is to provide cancer researchers with access to a diverse range of biospecimens for translational research. Samples are collected from both cancerous and non-cancerous tissues, along with relevant clinical data, ensuring quality-controlled storage and management. The study aims to create a comprehensive database that supports ongoing cancer research and improves understanding of the disease.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer who are undergoing surgery or procedures at the Arizona Cancer Center or University Medical Center.
Not a fit: Patients who are not undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer or those not receiving care at the participating institutions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could enhance cancer research and lead to improved treatment options for patients.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing biospecimen repositories have shown success in advancing cancer research, making this approach well-established.
