Assessing genetic and molecular profiles in health and disease in the Czech population

Assesment of Multiomics Profiles in Health and Disease - Corelation With the Disease Phenotype.

Observational The Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine, Czech Republic · NCT04427163

This study is trying to gather genetic and health information from 10,000 people in the Czech Republic, both healthy and those with diseases, to help better understand health issues in the region.

What this trial studies

This observational study aims to establish reference genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic profiles within the Czech population. Initially involving 1,000 healthy volunteers, the study plans to expand to 10,000 participants, including both healthy individuals and patients with various diseases. By creating a comprehensive reference database, the study seeks to enhance the interpretation of pathological findings in patients, particularly in the context of the unique genetic and environmental factors present in Central Europe. Participants will also have the opportunity to contribute biological samples for future research.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy individuals aged 18 to 68 without a genetic predisposition to disease or significant health issues.

Not a fit: Patients with existing genetically dependent diseases or significant health conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into disease predisposition and improve disease diagnosis and management for patients.

How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have been conducted in other populations, this approach is novel for the Czech and Slavic populations, making it a unique contribution to the field.
