What this trial studies

This observational study aims to evaluate the incidence, prevalence, and progression of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in a defined population in Egypt, focusing on genetic predispositions and related risk factors. A random sample of 1,200 households from the Ballana area will be selected, and participants will undergo cardiovascular profiling and continuous follow-up for up to 30 years. The study seeks to gather reliable data that will inform future cardiovascular research and guide health policy in the region.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are residents of Ballana who are 18 years or older and possess a valid National ID card.

Not a fit: Patients who are younger than 18 years or do not reside in the selected households will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and prevention strategies for cardiovascular disease in the Egyptian population.

How similar studies have performed: Other population-based longitudinal studies have shown success in understanding cardiovascular disease, making this approach both relevant and potentially impactful.
