What this trial studies

This ambispective registry will gather retrospective data back to 2019 and prospective data through 2035 on adults treated for lung cancer at the SC Oncologia 1 Unit of Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo. It will record diagnoses, tumor characteristics, treatments (including targeted therapies and immunotherapies), responses, adverse events, progression, and overall survival using the REDCap platform. Eligible patients are adults (≥18) who were treated at the center and who provide informed consent or have previously authorized use of their data. Data will be used to describe real-world treatment patterns and outcomes and to support future care and research while maintaining secure, de-identified records.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults (age ≥18) diagnosed with lung cancer and treated at the SC Oncologia 1 Unit of Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo who can give informed consent or who previously agreed to data use are ideal candidates.

Not a fit: Patients who cannot understand or sign informed consent or who were not treated at the center are not eligible and therefore unlikely to benefit from participation.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the registry could improve understanding of which treatments work best in routine practice and help personalize care for future lung cancer patients.

How similar studies have performed: Similar institutional and national lung cancer registries have successfully described real-world outcomes and informed treatment guidelines, so this approach is established.
