What this trial studies
ASDactive is a behavior change intervention designed to enhance physical activity among autistic youth aged 10-24. The program is informed by motivation and behavior change theories, particularly habit theory, and emphasizes the strengths and interests of participants. Over a 3-month period, participants will engage in motivational sessions, learn fundamental movement skills, and self-select physical activities to incorporate into their daily routines. The intervention includes both in-person and online sessions, with a follow-up period to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of the approach.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are young individuals aged 10-24 with a diagnosis of Level 1 autism or Asperger's syndrome.
Not a fit: Patients with physical conditions or injuries that limit their ability to participate in physical activities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the physical activity levels and overall well-being of autistic youth.
