What this trial studies
This interventional 12-week program delivers guided yoga sessions to women with surgically confirmed endometriosis who report moderate pelvic pain (VAS ≥5). Sessions are conducted via live Zoom and combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation, with weekly surveys to monitor symptoms. Eligible participants are reproductive-aged women not currently practicing yoga and able to commit to the full course, while exclusions include pregnancy, planned surgery or hormonal medication changes, established yoga or moderate exercise regimens, physical disability, and non-English speakers. The study measures change in endometriosis-related pain from baseline after the yoga intervention.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Women aged 18–45 with prior surgery and pathology confirming endometriosis, baseline moderate pain (VAS ≥5), not currently doing yoga, with internet access for Zoom, and able to commit to 12 weeks.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, already engaged in regular yoga or moderate exercise, have significant physical limitations, plan surgery or hormonal changes during the study, or cannot participate in English are unlikely to benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, yoga could reduce pelvic pain and improve daily function and quality of life for women with endometriosis.
How similar studies have performed: Yoga has shown benefits for menstrual pain in primary dysmenorrhea, but there are few studies specifically testing yoga for endometriosis pain, so direct evidence is limited.
