What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate HIV prevention needs among young women in Kisumu, Kenya, by analyzing social media and SMS data. Researchers will employ topic modeling and network analysis to correlate social media insights with existing HIV risk assessments. The study will also explore ethical considerations related to the use of personal data for health insights. Approximately 400 young women aged 18-24 attending clinics for health services will participate by providing six months of their social media messages. The goal is to enhance understanding of HIV prevention needs through innovative data science methods.

Inclusion Criteria: * Identifying as a young woman (age 18-24 years) * Attending clinic for any health services, including PrEP and HIV testing * Smart phone ownership * Ability to understand Kiswahili, DhoLuo, and/or English * Use of SMS, WhatsApp, and/or other types of social media Exclusion Criteria: • Inability to provide informed consent (e.g., intoxication, developmental delay)
