What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effect of pulsed electromagnetic field stimulation on children with localized osteomyelitis. A total of twenty patients, aged 5 to 16 years, will be randomly assigned to either a treatment group receiving pulsed electromagnetic field therapy alongside standard medical treatment or a control group receiving only medical treatment. The intervention will occur three times a week for two months, aiming to assess the efficacy of this novel approach in improving patient outcomes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are children aged 5 to 16 years diagnosed with localized osteomyelitis in one or both lower limbs.

Not a fit: Patients with immune disorders or systemic diseases that may interfere with the study's objectives will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could enhance recovery and reduce complications for children suffering from localized osteomyelitis.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of pulsed electromagnetic fields is a novel approach in this context, similar studies have shown promise in other conditions, suggesting potential for success.
