What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of low-intensity therapeutic laser on patients with diabetic foot ulcers. A total of 100 volunteers aged 18 and older with type 2 diabetes and diabetic ulcers will be recruited from the Integrated Center of Medical Specialties. Participants will undergo a thorough examination by a vascular surgery specialist before being enrolled. The study aims to assess the efficacy of this treatment method in promoting healing of diabetic foot ulcers.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old with type 2 diabetes and diabetic foot ulcers.
Not a fit: Patients with autoimmune diseases, psychiatric disorders, or infected diabetic foot ulcers may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could significantly improve healing rates for diabetic foot ulcers, enhancing patients' quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with low-level light therapy for wound healing, suggesting potential success for this approach.
