What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients diagnosed with or suspected to have thyroid nodules or thyroid cancer. It aims to enhance the understanding of diagnostic and treatment methods for thyroid conditions by utilizing standard medical care alongside new techniques. Participants will undergo various diagnostic procedures, including imaging and biopsies, while blood and tissue samples will be collected for research purposes. The study will also evaluate the effectiveness of radioiodine therapy and the significance of serum thyroglobulin measurements in diagnosing tumor recurrence.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults and children aged 6 months and older with known or suspected thyroid nodules or thyroid cancer.
Not a fit: Patients with serious underlying medical conditions that limit diagnostic testing or therapy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic and treatment strategies for thyroid cancer, enhancing patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in similar approaches to understanding thyroid cancer, but this study also incorporates novel techniques and methodologies.
