What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on individuals with advanced chronic cancers who are receiving targeted anti-cancer treatments. Participants will engage in interviews to share their experiences with these treatments and reflect on how they impact their daily lives. Over a three-month period, they will create metaphors that express their experiences, using various forms of expression such as visual art, music, or verbal narratives. The goal is to gather insights that can help improve support for patients undergoing these treatments.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals currently receiving chronic targeted anti-cancer agents for conditions like breast cancer, melanoma, or multiple myeloma.
Not a fit: Patients who are not currently undergoing targeted anti-cancer treatments may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the support and resources available to patients undergoing targeted cancer treatments.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is relatively novel in its focus on personal expression, similar studies have shown success in understanding patient experiences with chronic illnesses.
