What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the relationship between medication adherence and clinical outcomes in individuals diagnosed with pulmonary sarcoidosis. It will enroll 150 patients who have been on oral sarcoidosis medications for at least six months and will follow them over a 12-month period. The study seeks to identify factors that influence medication adherence and develop strategies to support patients in managing their treatment effectively. The hypothesis is that higher adherence to medication will correlate with improved health outcomes in sarcoidosis patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older with biopsy-proven pulmonary sarcoidosis who have been on oral medications for at least six months.
Not a fit: Patients who are non-English speaking or unable to provide consent may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment strategies and better health outcomes for patients with sarcoidosis.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown that improving medication adherence can lead to better clinical outcomes, suggesting this approach has potential for success.
