What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess the knowledge of the Italian population regarding lactose intolerance and its management through an anonymous online survey. Participants will provide insights into their understanding of the clinical, pathophysiological, diagnostic, and therapeutic aspects of lactose intolerance. The data collected will be analyzed and published to enhance awareness and support for individuals affected by this condition. The findings will also guide those suspected of lactose intolerance towards appropriate diagnosis and management strategies.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who are willing to complete an online survey about lactose intolerance.
Not a fit: Patients under 18 years of age or those unable to participate in the online survey will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve awareness and management of lactose intolerance among patients and healthcare providers.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies on dietary management have been conducted, this specific approach focusing on knowledge assessment through surveys is relatively novel.
