What this trial studies

This observational study focuses on the high-resolution single-cell profiling of cancer-associated fibroblasts in patients with HPV-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma and their metastatic lymph nodes. Participants will undergo photography, blood sample collection, and tissue collection, while their medical records will be reviewed to gather comprehensive data on the disease. The aim is to evaluate the cellular and biomarker characteristics associated with the aggressive behavior of head and neck cancer.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older with a new diagnosis of head and neck cancer who have not received prior treatment.

Not a fit: Patients who have previously undergone treatment for head and neck cancer may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and treatment strategies for head and neck cancer.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using multi-omic approaches to understand cancer biology, suggesting potential for success in this novel approach.
