Treatment for gum recession using a minimally invasive technique
Treatment of Gingival Recession by Tunnel Technique Using Connective Tissue Graft With or Without Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a tunnel technique combined with a connective tissue graft and injectable platelet-rich fibrin for treating Miller class I/II gingival recession. A total of 30 patients will be enrolled, with 15 receiving the treatment with the injectable platelet-rich fibrin and 15 receiving the standard treatment without it. Clinical parameters will be assessed at baseline and after six months, while post-operative pain will be evaluated after ten days. Additionally, histologic examination of the graft will be conducted to determine the saturation of growth factors.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are systemically healthy adults over 21 years old with Miller class I/II gingival recession.
Not a fit: Patients with systemic diseases contraindicating surgical procedures, smokers, or those with poor oral hygiene compliance may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a more effective and less invasive treatment option for patients suffering from gingival recession.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with similar minimally invasive techniques, suggesting potential for success in this approach.
