What this trial studies

This study investigates the effects of greater occipital nerve blockade and pulse radiofrequency treatment on pain management in patients suffering from chronic migraines. Participants aged 18-60, who have not responded to conventional medical treatments, will receive either a nerve block or radiofrequency application targeting the greater occipital nerve. The procedures will be performed under local anesthesia, and their effectiveness will be evaluated based on pain relief. The study aims to provide insights into alternative pain management strategies for chronic migraine sufferers.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-60 diagnosed with chronic migraine who have not found relief from standard medical treatments.

Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, have major psychiatric disorders, bleeding diathesis, local infections, or allergies may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could significantly reduce pain and improve the quality of life for chronic migraine patients.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with similar nerve block and radiofrequency approaches for chronic pain management, indicating potential for success in this study.
