Tracking long-term outcomes of critically ill patients with severe kidney injury in Southeast Asia and India
Epidemiology and Long Term Outcome of Critically Ill Patients Requiring Renal Replacement Therapy in Southeast Asia and India (InSEA-RRT Registry)
This study is tracking patients with severe kidney injury in intensive care units in Southeast Asia and India for two years to see how they recover and what factors affect their outcomes.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to gather long-term data on patients suffering from stage 3 acute kidney injury (AKI) in intensive care units across Southeast Asia and India. By following these patients for two years, the study will assess mortality rates and identify associated factors that contribute to outcomes in this population. The research addresses a significant gap in knowledge regarding AKI in low to middle-income countries, where such data is scarce. The findings could provide valuable insights into the management and treatment of critically ill patients with renal issues.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who are diagnosed with stage 3 acute kidney injury.
Not a fit: Patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) or those with an estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) below 15 mL/min/1.73 m2 will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve understanding of long-term outcomes for patients with acute kidney injury, leading to better management strategies.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on long-term outcomes of AKI in low to middle-income countries, similar studies in other regions have shown the importance of understanding these outcomes, indicating potential for success.
