Testing balance in multiple sclerosis patients using telehealth
Feasibility and Safety of the 360-degree Turn Test Delivered Via Telehealth

What this trial studies
This study investigates the feasibility and safety of administering the 360-degree turn test via telehealth for patients with multiple sclerosis. Participants will perform the test in their home environment during a videoconferencing appointment with a trained clinician. The study aims to compare telehealth methods with traditional face-to-face evaluations to determine if they are equally effective. Clinicians will receive training to ensure standardized and safe test administration.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals with a clinical diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and an Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) score of 5.5 or lower.
Not a fit: Patients who have had recent falls, lower limb surgeries, or other conditions affecting balance may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a safe and accessible way for patients with multiple sclerosis to assess their balance and mobility from home.
How similar studies have performed: While telehealth approaches are gaining traction, this specific application of the 360-degree turn test via telehealth is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
