What this trial studies

This project aims to develop and pilot a web-based decision support tool designed to enhance evidence-informed decision-making in child welfare, particularly in the context of the Family First Prevention Services Act. The tool will facilitate group decision-making processes among state decision-makers involved in adopting evidence-based programs to prevent child maltreatment. The study will engage participants from four states to evaluate the implementation quality of these programs using both automated and live facilitation methods. By leveraging feedback from state partners, the project seeks to refine the tool and assess its effectiveness in real-world settings.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults involved in state decision-making related to the Family First Prevention Services Act who are willing to participate in multiple data collection occasions.

Not a fit: Patients not involved in child welfare intervention decisions or those who are institutionalized will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could lead to improved adoption of effective mental health interventions, ultimately reducing child maltreatment and foster care entries.

How similar studies have performed: While the approach of using decision support tools in child welfare is innovative, similar studies have shown promise in enhancing decision-making processes in other health-related fields.
