What this trial studies
This clinical trial evaluates the effects of a personalized physical activity program on patients with metastatic breast cancer. The program is designed by a qualified cancer exercise specialist and includes a comprehensive assessment to tailor exercise interventions to individual needs. It aims to address the decline in physical activity that can negatively impact quality of life and physical functioning in these patients. Participants will engage in a home-based exercise regimen, along with health promotion and education, to enhance their overall well-being.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are females aged 18 and older diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer who are insufficiently active and have a performance status of ECOG 0-2.
Not a fit: Patients with severe or unstable cardiopulmonary, metabolic, or renal diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve physical fitness, quality of life, and reduce cancer-related fatigue in patients with metastatic breast cancer.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with exercise interventions in cancer patients, suggesting that this approach may be beneficial.
