What this trial studies

This clinical trial focuses on addressing non-inflammatory recessions and mucogingival defects that occur after the surgical removal of localized gingival enlargements. The study employs techniques such as the subperiosteal envelope technique combined with connective tissue grafts to enhance keratinized tissue and promote root coverage. By evaluating the effectiveness of these surgical interventions, the trial aims to reduce postoperative complications like recurrence and gingival recessions. The goal is to improve oral hygiene maintenance and overall periodontal health for affected patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are systematically healthy adults over 18 with localized gingival enlargement affecting a maximum of three teeth.

Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, heavy smokers, or taking medications that affect oral mucosa healing may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve periodontal health and reduce complications for patients with localized gingival enlargements.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promise with similar surgical techniques, indicating potential for success in this approach.
