What this trial studies
This study aims to analyze the relationship between DNA and protein profiles in cancer patients and various important clinical endpoints, such as overall survival and treatment side effects. By collecting and storing blood samples from patients with lung cancer at the MAASTRO clinic, researchers will conduct future DNA and protein analyses to better understand how genetic and environmental factors influence cancer outcomes. The study seeks to address gaps in previous research by utilizing a larger and more diverse patient population to establish clearer correlations between biological markers and clinical results.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients diagnosed with lung cancer who are able to comply with follow-up requirements.
Not a fit: Patients who are not diagnosed with cancer or those unable to comply with follow-up will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding of cancer prognosis and treatment side effects, ultimately enhancing patient care.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have been conducted, this approach focuses on a specific cancer type and aims to establish stronger correlations through a larger patient cohort, making it a novel effort.
